From The Desk of Matt Kline
Dear Law Enforcement Officers,
It has come to my attention in recent weeks that there may be some confusion in our ranks about what is considered acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Please let the following chart guide you in your day to day decision making and behavior. You really would not want to piss me off, would you?
Situation | Acceptable | Not Acceptable |
Testifying under oath that a fellow officer that repeatedly raped a teenage girl in a police station is a good guy and does not deserve jail time. | Acceptable
Working with the public to restore its lost faith in the local police force | | Not Acceptable |
Sitting in local convenience stores and drinking free coffee and eating free food instead of patrolling the streets for law breakers | Acceptable
Providing coffee to officers free of charge so that they can drink the beverage while still patrolling the streets doing their job | | Not Acceptable |
Making every county employee aware of what you are going to do every waking minute of the day, even though they are not part of your chain of command | Acceptable
Cooperating with the | | Not Acceptable |
Being a member of the Good Ol’Boys club and doing as the members of that club wish | Acceptable
Thinking for yourself and doing what is in the best interests for the department, the city residents, and your fellow officers | | Not Acceptable |
Writing a report that is vague, full of sexist language, contains a ridiculous amount of misspellings, and has very little fact based evidence | Acceptable
Being able to defend yourself when you are being railroaded | | Not Acceptable |
Saying things like “I will never work for a woman” or “We need to get the bitch out of here” | Acceptable
Filing a lawsuit with the equal opportunity commission because people have the attitude that they will not work for a woman | | Not Acceptable |
Saying that you are conducting an investigation in the most transparent ways possible, when it is actually as opaque as it can get | Acceptable
Speaking to the media and other people about the unfair treatment being brought upon you | | Not Acceptable |
