A July 7th gunshot victim died from a bullet wound in his body. Police say that the bullet exited the gun by way of a small explosion inside the gun. The bullet then traveled out of the gun until striking an object with enough mass and density to stop it. Police say this is typically how guns work.
In related news, online claims that the alleged shooter Andrew Johannson is a "cold blooded killer" have been disproven by Erie County Jail medical staff. Jail records show that Johannson's body temperature upon incarceration was a normal reading for an adult male: 98.6 degrees.
