The Erie County Fair is developing a cloud of controversy as 4-H members and horses form picket lines at the Fairgrounds in protest of rules regarding equestrian riding.
Several horses were seen with signs claiming that they are being unfairly forced to gallop, walk, and be judged merely on their appearance while human beings ride their backs. "We're supposed to be part of a civilized country," said Abbucas, a 3-year-old warmblooded thoroughbred. "We have cars, buses, trains...we certainly don't need to demean equine beings by forcing them to carry passengers unecessarily."
Abbucas claims that 4-H will definitely feel the heat in the coming days after several riders sustain head and back injuries related to getting bucked-the-hell-off their backs during the horse shows.
Abbucas says that he and other horses' patience is wearing thin with local horse riding fans
