A local pedophile has asked a judge to protect him from a law that states he is not allowed to molest children. A court motion filed on behalf of James T. Riedenmeier, Sandusky, asks Erie County Common Pleas Judge Tygh Tone to exempt him from "any and all laws prohibiting sexual contact between adults and children." Riedenmeier states that because he began molesting children nearly 20 years ago, his actions should be exempted from state laws prohibiting the acts. A spokesman from the Erie County Prosecutor's office said that Riedemeier's motion will likely be denied. "He doesn't actually state an argument. He just makes a request for protection from the law. It's actually kind of funny," said Sandy Rubinski.
