Executed killer Christopher Newton might have suffered the same fate as his victim -- suffocation. At least that's how the Southern Ohio Correctional facility's on-staff doctor sees it. Newton, 37, was executed last week for the beating and strangulation death of his former cellmate Jason Brewer. "Newton experienced the pain of suffocation before he died. In other words, the execution was successful on two different levels," "We're also working on lethal injections that simulate the pain felt from mortal gun shot wounds and stabbings," said Dr. Jack Boutton.
